Jacqueline Gahagan Mount Saint Vincent University

Jacqueline Gahagan became Mount Saint Vincent University’s new associate vice-president, research, on Sept. 1. Dr. Gahagan, a medical sociologist by training, is a member of the LGBTQ community and a former youth in care. They have worked in public health on many health inequities and issues, including HIV prevention, and hope to draw on their social justice background in their new role. Previously, Dr. Gahagan served as the head of the health promotion division and interim director of Dalhousie’s School of Health and Human Performance, and as a founding fellow of the MacEachen Institute for Policy and Governance.
