Athabasca University has announced Peter Scott as its president-designate. He begins his term on Jan. 4, 2022. Dr. Scott was previously pro vice-chancellor, education at the University of Technology Sydney in New South Wales, Australia. Prior to that, he was in a senior leadership role at The Open University, U.K., as director of the Knowledge Media Institute, a multidisciplinary research and development lab. Dr. Scott holds a PhD in psychology from the University of Sheffield. His research focuses on how individual technical innovations can create new models of learning.
